Announcing NOAA’s Equitable Climate Services Action Plan

May 6 / Jainey Bavishi

Friends,

I am thrilled to share that yesterday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released an Equitable Climate Services Action Plan.

This Action Plan is intended to be directly responsive to the feedback we received through our Request for Information on Equitable Delivery of Climate Services last year. It was the thoughtful responses from our nation’s communities and resilience practitioners that gave this Action Plan shape and purpose.

Moving forward, we are focused on implementation of this agency-wide plan, which includes continued engagement with people who are using climate services every day to make decisions in communities. We’re excited to stay engaged, both by keeping you updated on the progress we are making and continuing to hear from you on how we can go further in embedding equity in our climate services, from design to delivery.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach us at climate.input@noaa.gov. Thank you for all that you do to help our nation build a more equitable, resilient future.

With gratitude,

Jainey Bavishi
