Black voters are more concerned about climate change than the national average
Dec 27
Despite being among the groups most impacted by climate change, Black voters’ sentiments about climate change policies have gone largely unexplored. Manann Donoghoe, Justin Lall, and Andre M. Perry find that, on average, Black voters are more concerned about climate change, less polarized, and more likely to take action to support climate policy than voters overall. Their greater exposure and vulnerability to climate risk should motivate policymakers to respond to the needs and preferences of Black Americans.
