Black Towns & Settlements Mapping Project Missouri Tour

Missouri State Parks, in partnership with Lincoln University and the Missouri History Museum, is hosting a multicity tour featuring Dr. Atyia Martin, founder of Next Leadership Development, and Cymone Davis, founder of Black Towns Municipal Management. Dr. Martin and Ms. Davis will be showcasing their Historic Black Towns and Settlements Mapping Project, the first publicly available interactive map of communities incorporated or settled by Black Americans across the United States.

Tour Details

Join Martin and Davis as they journey through historic Black towns and settlements in Missouri, exploring the original story and vision of the mapping project, the counter-narratives and ways to sustain and grow this effort. The lecture series schedule:
